Colin is Joint Managing Director of Independent Media Investments, Studio of the North, Barzo/SON productions and FearFactory. His excellent knowledge of the creative aspects of media production has seen him develop links with many UK and European regions using the various state funding regimes to progress film and media projects. In the early 90’s Colin pioneered the use of ERDF state aid for the production of film and television. Colin has served as a Decision Maker/tutor on the internationally renowned EAVE training course. In 1997 The British Film Institute nominated Colin as the UK Cultural Entrepreneur of the Year by. More recently Colin has served as a production mentor on the Film London’s Microwave low budget feature scheme.

Amongst the 21 feature films that IMI have supported are the BAFTA winning ‘This Little Life’ (Director Sarah Gavron), the much acclaimed ‘Acid House’ (Director Paul McGuigan), the multi-award winning children’s film ‘An Angel For May’ (Director Harley Cokeliss) and the challenging ‘Principles of Lust’ (Director Penny Woolcock). Short films include BAFTA winners ‘Shadowscan’ (Director Tinge Krishnan), ‘My Wrongs # 8245-8249 & 117’ (Director Chris Morris) and Cannes nominated ‘Better or Worse’ (Director Jocelyn Cammack). Television productions range from Sally Wainwright’s ‘Sparkhouse’ for the BBC to Shane Meadows’  ‘A Gypsies Tale’ for Channel Four.  Hush is the first production for FearFactory. It was nominated for a BIFA award. ‘Within’ to be directed by Jens Jonsson will be the next FearFactory production. Colin was Production Executive on Studio of the North Supported ‘Zoned In’ (Directed by Daniela Zanzotto) that won the ‘NY Loves Documentary’ award at the 2008 Tribeca Film Festival.
